1st Generation iPod touch Repair Stories

I’ve acted in quite a few plays and had some small parts in a few movies. I make enough to keep going but I’m still waiting for my big break. I put my heart and soul into the roles I get – that’s the way I do things. No matter how small the part, even if it’s just a few lines, I try and get under the skin of the character and understand the motivations behind what he says and does to make my portrayal as realistic as possible. I also meditate for a while before going on stage. I try and focus only on the character I am playing and clear my mind of everything else. I find it helps me to do my best. The reviews I have been getting have been improving over the last year so I have hopes that my break will come soon. What helps me with my meditation is my iPod which plays quiet calm music for me amidst the backstage chaos and helps me to get ready to go onstage. Without it I don’t know what I would do. Or rather I do- I damaged it some time ago and was really in the soup. I don’t know what happened but one day the iPod just stopped working. I went on stage without my usual meditation and I know I did not do my best. Later on I tried to get it to work, but with no luck. I was in trouble because I really couldn’t afford to buy a new one and I was totally dependent on it to help me get ready to go on stage. Luckily I remembered an old roommate of mine had once gotten his iPod repaired. I knew he had found iPod repair companies online. The first chance I got I went online and searched for iPod repair websites and found many more than I expected. It seems that iPod repair is a regular business. And I had always thought that these small electronic devices had to be thrown away once they went bad! I contacted one of the companies and as per their advice, sent my iPod to them. The next few days were hard, with no iPod to help me prepare to go on stage, but the repair was done very fast and it was returned to me in perfect condition. And for a price, that an impoverished actor could afford.
