Hey i recently purchased a Milliamp battery for my 5th generation ipod video, the battery works great. But sometime when i put it in something went wrong. Keep in mind, the hold button works, the reset feature works(holding down menu and select). I've tried resetting the ipod, and completely restoring factory settings, nothing worked.

what i think the problem is:
1.) Firmware(i can't seem to install new firmware because i get stuck on language selection, as the buttons do not work)
2.) One post i have read somewhere suggests that there is some sort of "grounding pad" that needs to be seated correctly.

Keep in mind the ipod was working 100% before i changed the battery, so i don't think any of the hardware should be broken, but something may have fallen out of place. Also i am not positive but i may have disconnected the ipod during syncing when the "do not disconnect" message was displayed haha....but i would think reinstalling firmware would do the trick for that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....is there another way to install the firmware?! or get into Disk mode?!....i've tried getting into disk mode, just takes me to the language screen of installing the firmware

So my iPod stopped working a while ago and from reading around I figured out that it was the battery because it wasn't turning on or doing anything. So I ordered a battery and installed it and it started working just like normal for a few hours. A few hours later that same day I tried to charge the ipod and it wasn't charging or turning on. Is this a known issue or could it be that the battery I ordered was bad?

I bought a second battery and it did the same, it worked for a few hours and then the battery dies while it was on a iPod speaker dock that charges the battery while it plays...I thought maybe it should be the connector for the USB cable, but then I remember that it worked fine when I first connected the batteries. This is driving me crazy, I really don't know what it could be.

This is just a quick question
Are the logic boards for the wifi and 3g versions the same?
Common sense would tell you no but every teardown ive seen i try to compare them to find the difference and i only seem to find one, being a small black adapter peace on the end of the logic board on the 3g version that connects to the 3g module in the unit. This observation alone would have sufficed but when i went on parts websites hoping to get a closer look at the logic boards i only see one and its exactly the same for both wifi and 3g version which makes me wonder if this small black adapter piece at the end of the lb is soldered into the lb or is it easily removable/sellable. this makes me wonder further whats stopping a person from just obtaining this piece a sim card connector and antenna and simply modifying their ipad, other than cost.....................sorry for the ramblings and any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated
