Replaced battery and now click wheel and buttons do not work
  • Hey i recently purchased a Milliamp battery for my 5th generation ipod video, the battery works great. But sometime when i put it in something went wrong. Keep in mind, the hold button works, the reset feature works(holding down menu and select). I've tried resetting the ipod, and completely restoring factory settings, nothing worked.

what i think the problem is:
1.) Firmware(i can't seem to install new firmware because i get stuck on language selection, as the buttons do not work)
2.) One post i have read somewhere suggests that there is some sort of "grounding pad" that needs to be seated correctly.

Keep in mind the ipod was working 100% before i changed the battery, so i don't think any of the hardware should be broken, but something may have fallen out of place. Also i am not positive but i may have disconnected the ipod during syncing when the "do not disconnect" message was displayed haha....but i would think reinstalling firmware would do the trick for that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....is there another way to install the firmware?! or get into Disk mode?!....i've tried getting into disk mode, just takes me to the language screen of installing the firmware
