I've been trying to charge my 3rd gen ipod with a usb cable, but it doesn't seem to work. Does that mean my 3rd gen is broken?
A 3rd Generation iPod will not charge through your USB port, only via FireWire. The issue stems from the USB cable itself, since a third generation iPod requires a 12v charge, and the USB cable can only carry a 5v charge.
