Always looking to find ways to simplify things, one of our recent improvements was small…very small. You see, even though the iPod Video 30GB battery is the exact same one that goes inside the 6th Generation 80GB and 120GB iPod classic, we had two labels printed up – one for each type.

This added a modest layer of complexity for ordering, inventory control, order fulfillment, repairs, shipping accuracy, and so on.

Same thing with the 60GB and 80GB iPod Video battery – this guy is the same battery that slips inside the 6th Generation 160GB iPod classic.

So it finally dawned on us to simplify things and merge the two battery labels.

Oh, there is a bit of twist, these days: the newest (and perhaps last?) version of this kind of iPod is the slim-height iPod classic, which comes in a 160GB flavor as well, but is thin like the 80GB or 120GB ipod classic – takes the same battery, too.

Get your 5th Generation iPod Video (30GB, 60GB, and 80GB) Battery here.
Get your 6th Generation iPod classic (80GB, 120GB, and 160GB) Battery here.

…and look closely at the label.

Wow! Things have been busy lately, but we’ve been making all kinds of improvements over here to make the overall customer service experience so much better. If you click on our Contact Us page, you’ll see exactly what I’m referring to. We’re building up our knowledgebase to answer your most frequently asked questions! If your answer isn’t there, submit a ticket and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours. That’s super exciting news for us since it means that we’ll be able to reach more customers. Happy customers = Happy company!

On a lighter note, I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with the iPhone application called Talking Carl which one of our repair technician’s had on his phone. You know, it’s this funny little red guy with snail eyes who repeats everything you say but in a high-pitched, goofy voice. Appaaaarently it’s for parents who need to keep their kiddos occupied, but I got quite a few chuckles from messing with it for a few minutes. It’s super simple! You open said app, speak and he’ll repeat it right back without having to hit a ‘record’ button like many other applications.

A few minutes of fiddling with this app got a little boring, so I wanted to mix it up and put two iPhones with the same app together so that they could ‘talk’ and repeat to one another. I said ‘hello’ into one which then echoed into the other and so on. Naturally, as the two Carls are duking it out, their voices are getting more highpitched and eventually turn into this excruciating painful screech that would probably make a grown man cry. Lesson learned. Don’t let Carl talk to another Carl or you might have your neighbors around you hate you for life.

Enjoy the rest of Wednesday! =]

Marian

So far all the ratings I have seen have been 4 stars or more. One of the new improvements the developers have added is 5 new multi-player modes. But what I am looking forward to see if there is an online multi-player mode because like most people I do not like people screen watching me and I like competition! And if you are big BioShock fan like me, a special edition of the game has been announced which will contain the game, posters, art book, etc. The release date is scheduled for February 9th, which also happens to be my Birthday! For those of you who are not familier with Bioshock, the game’s plot is a twisted set of little girls who need their Daddy who happens to be a machine that you play. You travel this underwater world called Rapture searching for these little girls. The main enemy in the campaign mode are zombie type creatures that have a various set weapons.
