As an original player of the first BioShock game, I am looking forward to see what 2K games has done in BioShock 2. So far all the ratings I have seen have been 4 stars or more. One of the new improvements the developers have added is 5 new multi-player modes. But what I am looking forward to see if there is an online multi-player mode because like most people I do not like people screen watching me and I like competition! And if you are big BioShock fan like me, a special edition of the game has been announced which will contain the game, posters, art book, etc. The release date is scheduled for February 9th, which also happens to be my Birthday! For those of you who are not familier with Bioshock, the game’s plot is a twisted set of little girls who need their Daddy who happens to be a machine that you play. You travel this underwater world called Rapture searching for these little girls. The main enemy in the campaign mode are zombie type creatures that have a various set weapons.

Monday, January 18th, 2010For the past few weeks I have been highly involved with the latest installment of the Call of Duty series; Modern Warfare 2. Now I’m not going to blow smoke up anyone’s butt and claim to be an expert, but as an avid gamer since my youth I have grown very observant of game strategy and tactics. Okay let’s get down to business, I only play online. I am quite sure that the content of the campaign mode would be unique and entertaining, but let’s face it; it’s much more fun to kill real people…wait computer people controlled by real people. I love the chaos of online multi-play, and with the different achievements and leveling process this game can become seriously addicting. While playing online you have several choices in the type of match which you can play. I would have to say that the regular team deathmatch is my favorite, but the HARDCORE team deathmatch is much more intense. In this arena there is no mini-map, you don’t know how many bullets you have, you don’t have crosshairs on your weapon, one bullet kills you no matter where you get hit, and there is no kill-cam so you don’t know where you were shot from, and you can kill teammates with friendly fire. Okay, now there are really only two ways to effectively “own” at this game
. The first would be camping, which is a more realistic way of combat where one would find cover in a high traffic area and just wait for the “nubs” to fall into your trap. This may keep you from dying, but I guarantee you that you will seldom be the top of the kills list. The other method of “owning” is the road few people travel, and this is mainly because the skills necessary to be at this level usually come after countless hours of game play. I will call this tactic seek and destroy because you do just that. To become good at this you must become great at handling your character, equip him with supplies that will enable you to navigate the map quickly, have a great deal of knowledge of spawn point, and be mister quick-from-da-hip. With these attributes under your belt it will be easy to be leading the pack in kills, but you may also be the guy with the most deaths because one of the major downfalls to being a champ is that you rarely know exactly where the enemy is. Well, this is just a small look into the realm of Modern Warfare 2, and if you every want to cross hairs, some pun intended, you can find me on the Playstation 3 network “oakmania3030″.
