Hello Blog readers! This is part 1 of a 2 part entry. I just got back from my vacation, so I have a lot to say.
One of my earlier blogs was about guitars and why should I spend so much money on a guitar. Well, I got a huge blessing during my vacation. Like any guitarist, I have a list of dream guitars that I would love to have before I die. First on the list, a Gibson SG Standard in Naturalburst. Gibson discontinued this color last year, before I had the means to get one. So I spend time every week looking at ebay, craigslist, pawnshops, classifieds, anywhere that I might find this guitar for sale. I made a trip to Guitar Center for some stuff my band needed, and there it was. I saw some guy playing it. I couldn’t believe it. My mind began racing! Did they start making the color again?! Did he bring it in to test amps?! Then I saw there was a price tag on it, so I knew it wasn’t his….yet. As this guy played away, I started looking at the other Gibson SGs that store had. All of them over $1,000.00. I know that this is a rare guitar, So it had to be pricey. Then I saw that guy get up and start looking for a sales person. I thought that was it. Another missed opportunity. Nope. He put it down!! I grabbed it and immediately found a sales person. To my surprise, the guitar was used but in amazing condition. Even better, it was only $700. So I’m finally part of the Gibson family. : ) Great success!!!
