my life in blog form

WELL here’s the major haps in my life:

I got into the nursing program at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio!  I’m veddy excite (that’s me in the picture to the right).  Although there’s all sorts of hoops to jump through like getting my fingerprints taken/background checks/immunizations/security training! JEEZ.  So supposedly I will be graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in May 2012.  After that I plan on working for a while and possibly doing travel nursing.  THEN I’d like to go back to school to become a CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist).  That’s the nurse that assists the anesthesiologist and it’s only 2 more years (a Master’s) so i say what the hay.

Also I went to New York City a few weeks ago.  It was quite wondrous.  I scouted out the neighborhood, and even the exact townhome that I want to move into in Greenwich Village.  As soon as I somehow become a millionaire.  We also went to the top of the Rockefeller Center (seventy something stories).  I wanted to sneak onto the 30 rock set, but I failed.  I would highly recommend the double decker touristy bus tour for any future visitors.  The tour went to all the major attractions and plus many more and had stops along the way where you could get off the bus to walk around for however long you wanted and just hop right back on the next bus that comes every 30 minutes to continue on the tour.  I didn’t know that New York had so much history just within the small area we stayed in (the first Macy’s, all kinds of innovations in architecture, the site of George Washington’s house during his presidency, Statue of Liberty of course – which, by the way, is a way brighter pastel mint green than I imagined it, China town and the tenement apartments, etc).  All in all, my expectations were exceeded and New York City is ineffable.

Wow! Congratulations. This is major news. I know from my wife that finding anesthesiologists (pediatric ones, at least) in San Antonio is challenging, so you should have no trouble finding something. Again, congrats!
