I am working in my dream job and you might think I am crazy. I am a Zamboni driver for a professional sports arena. You might be asking yourself, "What the heck is a Zamboni?" Well, that's the machine that you see in a sports arena that makes the ice smooth for ice skaters. Without this machine and the driver there would be debris on the ice that might hurt someone. I have been a driver since high school and I love my work. Not only do I get to drive, but I also get to meet the members of sports teams. I have known many of the local guys since they were in high school and many have gone on to make it big in ice hockey. Although it might look like an easy job there is actually an art to it. You see the Zamboni actually resurfaces the ice and there is a certain way to do it. I take my iPod sometimes to listen to it while I work. I have to keep one ear on my iPod and the other ear on what is going on around me. Earlier this week I was driving the machine as usual, when I found I was headed for an iPod repair. I thought it might be a bit ridiculous trying to get it done but I decided to try it anyway. With any luck I could get it repaired instead of having to buy a brand new iPod. You see, I was riding around and getting into the zone of driving when I hit a divot in the ice. Usually these aren't a big deal but this time it bumped me just enough to knock me off balance. My iPod hit the ice and the casing broke open. I took the pieces back to my place and after I put as much of it as I found in a small box, I went on the Internet to look for an iPod repair company. I was relieved to find several. I was very happy to be able to send it off right away and expected that it would take four to six weeks to get it back. I was surprised when it came back quicker than I expected. I now know that should anything happen again I can send it to the iPod repair company for a nominal cost which gives me more security.
