The following are typical comments that we have received from customers who have required repairs on their Apple iPod, iPhone or iPad. They may not make a whole lot of sense in this current context, but are listed here to give you an idea of the kinds of repairs that we offer for this model.
BROKEN IPOD DISPLAY GLASS. Phone works great. Has a number of cracks in the glass. Replaced it immediately after dropping it. Phone number was transferred to my replacement phone. Battery dead. Unit was dropped in water, and battery replaced once after dry out. Replacement battery no good. Looking forward to a new working battery. The battery will completely lose charge when left unplugged for more than 24 hours. The battery indicator indicates that the battery is either always completely full or zero charge. At times it will not even power up due to the low charge. There is no passcode set on it. Through the summer this I pod Classic was the music source in a relatively hot professional kitchen environment. It was always connected to a power source. Symptoms: A prompt to connect the i pod to a power source. After two days it didn't turn on at all. I connected it to a different power source and with a different cable with the same results. My impression is that the battery needs replacement or that the charger is not charging. got wet, suggestions?
I have an iphone 3g. There may be other problems, but the first one is that the main (only) and round button on the face does not function. Also, you can notice some rust or water marks in the charging port area. There is a crack in the plastic housing on the backside. If that crack is not repairable, that is fine. I would like the phone operable and be apprised of any other problems after that button is repaired and operable. I have never owned this phone, but my friend has, so if you have any questions about how it USED to function, please call him directly. Before he upgraded his phone he said that this one worked fine except he would have to hit that button about 4 times rapidly for it to work. Thanks! wont turn on (we think charger is bad) Wont let us go to youtube, itunes isnt working it says it wont download the extended charger we have never worked - he has lost since. Battery does not hold charge for very long. This i pod was washed and now ONLY works if on a direct power source ( i pod dock). After it was washed we let it dry for 3-4 days. When we tried it, it did not work without a direct power source. It appears to be a battery issue only but will rely on your evaluation. Wont turn on. Only needs a battery replacement, works fine. Please replace battery. 80 GB ipod is not working. worked fine & then suddenly wouldn't turn on:(:( hoping it just needs a battery...?? Couldn't remember passcode. Ipod Disabled. My 30GB iPod classic model A1136 went through the washing machine (front loader). I let it dry for over 1 week in a VERY dry northern Maine house. I then plugged it into the charger. I got a low battery signal and an unhappy face saying that I should contact the apple support. I let the ipod charge over night, but do not think that the battery is taking the charge (still get low battery and apple support warning). I opened the iPod to see if I could see any residue left from soap, but all looked okay as far as I could tell. But when I put it back together, still the same warning signs. Maybe the battery is shot and all else is okay. (my wishful thinking)
In the past couple of months, the IPOD locked up on a number of occasions. It did however, respond to my attempts to reset and continued to work. On one recent occasion, it locked up and I attempted to reset. Instead of rebooting, it displayed a triangular icon with an exclamation point in the middle and an image of an IPOD with a sad face. When I attempted to engage the IPOD again, I received the same image. A third time I attempted to turn the unit on, and this time I was met by a blank black screen. I have not attempted to reboot or even charge the unit since.
Will my music be erased? I believe this ipod touch is a 2nd generation but I'm not sure. The problem with it is that it does not turn on. I know the problem is not simply a bad screen because when I plug it into the computer, the computer does not detect it. When this ipod touch was given to me by someone else, it was already not working, so I don't know if there is a passcode enabled on it. The only problem with my iTouch is that the "Home Button" does not work. For example, in order for me to get out of an opened application is to shut off the iTouch and turn in back on. That's pretty much it...Thanks a million! 1) Battery appears either exhausted or not accepting charge as it only lasts a few minutes. 2) Malfunction of Menus, unable to navigate easily, appears to freeze. 3) Central SELECT button has become inoperative, do not feel pressing action. Went thru wash. Ipod will not turn on. Not sure exactly what model Ipod I have. Ipod has sticker "skin" on it... ok to remove if necessary... please restick skin after removal if possible.
It is a U2 model. It will "turn" on but clicks and shuts off. Hard drive? I'd like to get it running again as a back-up to my other Ipod- plus it's a classic! Thanks. The headphone jack on the device isn't working. If this is a repairable problem, I would also like to have a new battery put into the device. These are the only problems I am currently aware of. Thanks Milliamp!
Couldn't remember passcode. Ipod Disabled. Daughter left her phone in pocket and started the wash. Caught it about 4 minutes in....I stored the phone in rice for about a week....tried to charge - nothing. About a month later, I plug it in and get a blank (white) screen, I did a soft reset and it appeared that everything came back except for the touch screen. I connected to iTunes and did a restore in hopes of getting the touch screen to come back, but it did not. Took the SIM card out - and sending to you! My iphone got wet. I dried it and opened it to dry used a hair dryer and left it open for 2 days. I then put it all back together and plugged it in. It came on, but the backlight was dim. I then plugged it to my computer to download onto Itunes. It keep going through the process but it could never restore. I could see all my pictures on my phone but could not get them to download. I put the phone away for about a month and I would go back to it and charge it to see if the back light would come back on. No. It would come on very dim and stay on for a few minutes then go back to the apple logo over and over. I tried to connect it again to my computer, but it doesnt reconize it. Hope you can fix it. The only thing that I am heart broken about it all my pictures of my kids. I wasn't sure if I would lose all the pictures when you fix what ever is wrong with it.
Iphone fell in water container. Attempted to dry with a hair air blower. Since then only the apple lights up when attempting to charge or connect to computer. No other action seen. i dropped it in my hot tub over a year ago. let it dry, turned it on, seemed fine, but after a full charge it wouldnt hold the charge for long. it kept wanting to be synced to itunes like it was new or reset. home button and wifi never recovered. it probably has serious corrosion. good luck! Ipod touch was put into sports bag with a water bottle. Water bottle leaked and ipod got wet and will not turn on. Have tried putting in rice for a couple of days to no avail. NOTE: ipod belongs to my daughter. I have provided her phone number to contact for more info and repair authorization. My 4 year old daughter dropped the ipod in the toilet, wife says was in there for less than 5 seconds. She dried it off but did not tell me for about 3 days. At that time I tried to use it, the screen came on but would not respond to touch commands. I placed it in rice and with silica packs in a plastic bage and used a hair dryer on cool, to no avail. This happened about 2 weeks ago. Ipod was ran through the washer machine. Put Ipod in dessicant. The item was dropped in water. It was packed in rice for a week to dry out. Once removed it was tried out. It will play and everything works correctly while on a docking staion. However it will not accept a charge. It shows it's charging but never does. As soon as it's removed it dies. There is also 2 small lines in the screen I assume are water damage but really pose no obvious issues that have been noticed. No passcode. Water damage. Home button not working. Voice control gets activated by itselft - randomly. Also, a "This accessory is not compatible with the iPhone" message pops up. Touch screen working perfectly. I dropped it in some muddy water. The touch screen won't work when I touch it, although it worked when we were in the Apple store. Then when I brought it home it wouldn't work again. It is a 3rd Gen iPod touch, 8GB. Iphone 4 fell in water. Immediatly removed. Now in rice.
My I-pod touch is a 64g device and was dropped in water and immediately turned off. I don't know what a passcode is so I assume that I do not have one. I did not attempt to turn it on for three days after the incident however i did not pack it rice or use a hairdryer or anything else suggested on some websites. The device turned on after the three days but was not recognized by I tunes so I restored the device according to Apple directions. After the restore process I was able to see the screen however the "slide to unlock screen" is non responsive. I charged the battery but now if I don't keep it plugged in the battery live is very short. (approximately one day.) The on/off button below the screen seems to work fine. When I press the power off button on the top edge of the device the screen shows a slide bar with directions to slide to power off. I cannot use the slide.
Both of these devices have experienced the unfortunate and much dreaded "water damage". The one packed in rice was dropped in the water tonight. My three year old son did it and grabbed it out in just a few seconds- quick enough that I couldn't get across the room to do it for him! I dried it with a towel and used the hair dryer on cool for about 20 minutes. For the first time in years, we are out of rice- so I will pack it in rice first thing in the morning on our way to work and then send it to you. By the time you receive it- it will have spent a few days in the dry rice. The second one. I'm actually shocked that it doesn't work. There was about 1/2 an inch of water in a cup holder and my son dropped the ipod in it. It never worked again (this was a year ago). I'm not sure if it's too late or not- but I'd love to see you try. We did everything then- rice, cool hair dryer, etc. The amount of water was very minimal- so I'm still cautiously optimistic that you can save it. I'd love to see what you can do with these two devices. We obviously spent a lot of money on them and would love to have them repaired for a low cost. Your response is appreciated! The contact number is my office number where I am from 9-5 Eastern. In the event that you don't reach me there, please try to call me on my cell phone. It doesn't work in my office building- so please try the other line first. Thanks so much!! I've got my fingers crossed and my little boy will think you're a hero if you save his "game".
Good Morning Sir or Mam, We were celebrating our 235th Marine Corps Birthday and I jumped in the pool with my Iphone in my uniform. I was in the pool for approximately 10 minutes. Hopefully you can fix it whoever you are out there and be my hero.
FOUND IN A PUDDLE OF WATER OUTSIDE. DRIED OFF AND PLUGGED IN IT WORKED INITIALLY THEN STOPPED WORKING. The ipod touch was dropped in water it stayed there for about 10 sec then was dryed with hair dryer.the device does come on and srceen is lit but touch part of the machine doesn't work. Dropped in water, turned on right after, turned off, hasn't worked since. went through the washer in a pocket. Device was wet during a rain storm. iPod Glass came loose and device will not power on. ipod got wet from being in my backpack in the rain.
This iPod nano (4th or 5th gen I think) went through the washer. Tried to turn on, got nothing. I immediately put it in a ziploc bag with white rice for about 36 hours. Removed from ziploc and tried to turn on....nothing. My son tried to plug it in for a charge...Nothing still. We believe this Ipod touch was water damaged. It was in a tent while raining, with a little moisture coming in contact with it. It was not submerged in water. My son didn't think it was water damaged and turned it on with no luck. It doesn't appear to powering up at all. When charging, it gets warm as if it is charging. The iPod touch has power and is recognized by a computer when plugged in but shows only a screen with water droplets on it and the touchscreen doesnt respond when I attempt to slide to unlock. Washed in washing machine put in rice for 2 weeks showed white apple sign when plugged in. now does nothing. The ipod was in a jacket that was washed in a washing machine. It was taken apart and some water was removed, however it still does not work. Ipod fell in chlorinated pool on November 26th. Died immediately. I dried in in a bag of rice for 1 week, seems dry. When plugged in computer: Apple icon flashing on/off, computer not reading. When plugged into FM transmitter with power source: Apple icon comes on for around 30 seconds, then Ipod works. No trouble changing settings or finding/playing music/video, seems to work fine. Battery says it is fully charged...when I remove the Ipod from the Power source it dies immediately. Perhaps the problem is the battery, as well as the chlorine corrosion. Phone me at any time to inform me of your progress
Was working great with no previous problems- About a year old. Was distracted and slipped out of hand into a half cup of hot tea, bottom first, still playing for a few seconds after hitting liquid, then shut off. Shook water out, tried to turn on, screen appeared, then shut off. Put unit by warm heater for 24 hours, kept trying to turn on several times. Could see icons but no backlight. After that, put in bag of brown rice for 3 days. Tried to turn on and saw backlight quickly and then shut off. Has never come on again since. Left in sealed bag of white rice for last 2 weeks. Still no response. I'm afraid we fried it with the turning on. Didn't know better, just trying to test it. If it can be repaired I would like the battery replaced as well. my daughter spilled coke on her ipod and it has not worked since. My iPod Touch fell into a bucket of water, but pulled out quickly (maybe 2-3 seconds submerged at most). I can charge it and it shows up every now and then, but the touchscreen is delayed or doesn't work at all sometimes. I charge it for a couple of hours, but if I pull it off the charger, it doesn't turn on at all. the device was washed. It was dryed on the heat register for ! month and now will work if connected to a power source but will not charge.
Fell in sink, partially submerged in water. Took it out right away and the screen slowly turned white. We put it in a bag of rice but the next day it would not turn on. This ipod went through the washing machine. We placed it in rice for weeks but it would not come on. A friend said to soak it in alcohol overnight which we did. The ipod will come on and play when it is on the docking station but will NOT come on when it is off or when it is connected to the computer. The battery doesn't seem to be holding a charge. i pod was drop into water and dont seem to work it did powerup but it has no sound and earphone didnt work. Ipod was dropped into a glass of water for about 30 seconds, I let dry for a day and tried to turn on and nothing. Only submerged in water for seconds. I grabbed the phone set it down and pondered what I was going to do. It turned on by itself ran for about 1 second and shut off. The camera flash was stuck on when I shipped it. I dropped in the water at 9am central 12/18 Mailing it to you in a matter of hours. Ipod was on floor and water spilled on it and stopped working new battery probably needed too. Absolutely no sign of power since it was laundered in the back pocket of my daughter's jeans. I hope you can help. Had the iTouch in my pocket when I went into the hot tub. I was in the water about 6 to 10 inches about 30 seconds. Pulled out of pocket and dried off externally. After about 8 hours I then put in ziplock bag with rice for 3 days. After the 3 days I tried to power up and no response. No passcode. IT GOT WASH. has been turn on. but was on when wash. Was dropped in the sink while it was on took it out dried it shut it off. Put it on a air forced furnace vent for 2 days would not turn on. Has been in the rice bag for 2 days. this ipod nano has been run through wash dried for 2 weeks will power up on dock and work, but no work off dock. it happened quite a while ago, but worth the money to try and fix. I dropped this in the sink for only a couple of seconds. I then dried with hair dryer and it worked fine for about an hour before suddenly completely shutting off for good. I have had it in a rice container for 2 days before mailing it. Please also note that if you are able to repair this, that I might want to have you put in a new battery as well, as the battery has not been holding a charge as long lately as it used to. Best Regards. Has been drying out for 8 months with case cracked open to dry. Install new battery and face plate if it works. I am shipping 2 ipod nano's to you: (1) black, in a bag of rice, was washed in a washing machine (2) blue, in clear case, works well except for the wheel (it only plays on a docking station) iPod went through washing machine & dryer in my son's sweatshirt! Worked for a while (couldn't really see the screen however) then it just stopped working. Is it salvagable? Thank you. My ipod touch was dropped into the pool. After I retrieved it, I powered it off, shook out all the water I could and let it sit for 10 days to dry out. After that time, it was turned on. It appears to work (there are apps, music palys, etc), EXCEPT the backlight does not work. I have to stand in bright sun light to see the screen. Please evaluate for other issues, but all I detect is the backlight not working. 6 month old Ipod Touch 8 Gig 3rd gen went thru the wash inside a pants pocket. Washer is a front loader so the device got wet but not submerged. Device won't turn on on its own. If we plug into the USB nothing happens. If we hold the power and main button to reset computer says USB device has malfunctioned. If we plug the device into the docking station (radio) it goes thru the boot up process and then functions normally and shows a full battery charge. As soon as you remove it from the docking station it shuts off. My assumption is that the battery is compromised.
Went through an entire washing machine cycle. Didn't dry it though. The ipod touch not turning on correctly. The scree was dark and the touch screen was not responding. I then connected it to the macbook and attempted to restore the ipod which dod not work. Then I noticed moisture in the lower corner of the screen. When I shook it, I could feel small water drops coming from the bottom. I connected a vacuum to the bottom of the ipod touch and ran it for 20 minutes to try to extract the water. I then placed it in a container with dry white rice for 1 week, however it will not power up. I dropped my phone in the water about a week ago. I let it sit out and dry off for a week and it still wont power on or charge. I washed my 5th Gen iPod Nano. After being washed it sat in the pocket of my wet jeans for about 2 hours. After I took it out of the wash my husband, who works with electronics and builds circuit boards for a living, told me not to turn it on until it had dried out. He dried it out all day yesterday and then plugged it in. As of right now it works prefectly... as long as it's plugged in. It acts like it's charging and sends info back and forth to the computer, but as soon as it's unplugged it shuts down.
Touch went through wash. Dried unit for several days in closed container with Silca Gel. Unit will boot up on AC charger but will shutdown when removed. Date resets. Screen looks good when on and all functions work including wireless. Will not boot up or charge connected to PC USB. The device will not turn on anymore. We believe soda was spilled on it. That happened about 1 month ago. Has not worked since, though we tried turning it on and the battery display would show up briefly, but then would go off again.
ipod went in the wash and dry cycle. dryed out. turned on. screen works but scroll wheel doesnt respond. so cant turn on or off so battery goes dead. needs to be charged to have screen and music played, but they both do. works when plugged in to power source. but when unplugged battery dies and ipod turns off. ipod was dropped in water which caused this promblem. The iPod Touch was exposed to water. It was working for a while and then gradually the touchscreen functionality started to worsen. I placed it in a bag of rice for a couple weeks. I am able to recharge the device and my computer iTunes program is able to recognize it, however, the touchscreen functionality no longer works. The device was water damaged but I believe the only non-functioning part is the Charge/Sync port, however do all you can to fix my Ipod please. Device fell in pool while I was listening to it and now won't power on.
